Getting there & around

De Plantijn is easily accessible by car, public transport and bicycle.

By car
Coming from both north and south on the A10 Ring Road, take exit 7. At the end of the exit, follow S107/Henk Sneevlietweg at the traffic lights. At the next traffic lights, turn right onto Johan Huizingalaan and then immediately left at the first intersection onto Louwesweg. You will find the entrance to De Plantijn after 200 m on the right.

Public transport
The nearest tram and bus stops are to the south and east of De Plantijn. These are Louwesweg and Johan Huizingalaan. Tram 2 and buses 18, 62, 195, 247 and N88 stop here. In addition, the metro stop Heemstedestraat is a 2-minute walk away and the train station Lelylaan is a few streets away.

Bicycle
On the grounds of De Plantijn, there are plenty of possibilities to park your bicycle. This can be your own bicycle or a public transport bicycle. At Amsterdam Lelylaan train station, you can rent a bicycle “OV-fiets”.

Parking

As a visitor to an institution or company within De Plantijn, you can park in the parking area or in the on-site parking building. All parking places are paid parking spaces.

Car park location
You will find the park area and parking building from the entrance on Plesmanlaan after 200 metres on the right and from the entrance on Louwesweg after 500 metres on the left. When you enter the car park, this is also clearly indicated on the signs.

The address of the car park and the parking building is Louwesweg 12.

Parking rate
The rate is €2.20 per hour for the first hour. After that, €0.55 per 15 minutes. The first 15 minutes are free.

Depending on your destination, you may be eligible for a more favourable rate. Check with the institution or company you are visiting.

Rates apply as of 1 January 2021 and are subject to change.

Disabled persons
Disabled parking spaces (P1 and P2) are available on the outside of the parking building. These parking spaces can be accessed directly from the roadway. The disabled parking area next to the parking building is free of charge.
